Dean’s Measure – The Provision of the Acces of the Students

Dean’s Measure No. 11/2020 - The provision of the access of students and other people to the publicly accessible part of final state exams at the Faculty of Science buildings in connection to the state of emergency measures announced by the Czech government.


Article No. 1 - Introductory provisions

In accordance with the resolutions of the Czech Government from 30 April 2020, which concern emergency measures, the following measures will be taken at the Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava.


Article No. 2 - Student’s access to the Faculty buildings

  1. Groups of a maximum of fifteen students are eligible to participate in the face-to-face study at the Faculty of Science premises. This restriction does not apply to clinical and practical training.

  2. Students are eligible to participate in the above-mention forms of tuition mainly in the following events:
    • Face-to-face consultations or examinations with a maximum of fifteen people present
    • Participation in a laboratory, experimental or similar work to finish bachelor, master, or doctoral theses with a maximum of fifteen people present,
    • Where a distant form of tuition is not possible, face-to-face laboratory, experimental or similar tuition, with a maximum of fifteen people present
    • Participation in clinical or practical tuition and training.

  3. Students are eligible to participate in the above-mentioned forms of tuition, examination or other activity at the Faculty of Science, only under the following conditions:
    • Students do not have any symptoms of infectious disease caused by viruses (e.g. fever, cough, breathing difficulties, sudden loss of taste and smell, etc.),
    • Upon entering the Faculty building or the examination room, students disinfect their hands with the disinfection provided by the Faculty,
    • The tutor/ teacher picks up the students at the reception and sees to the proper disinfection of their hands,
    • Students sign a document declaring that in the past two weeks, they have not had any symptoms of infectious disease caused by viruses and, are not put into quarantine,
    • Students give the signed declaration to the lecturer/ teacher.

Article No. 3 - Access of other people to the publicly accessible part of final state exams at the Faculty of Science buildings

  1. The Dean of the Faculty of Science allows a presence of a maximum of ten people at the publicly accessible part of final state exams (except for the members of the committee),
  2. The Dean of the Faculty of Science orders that the following rules are followed:
    • Keeping a two-metre distance between people present
    • All people present to the final state exams do not have any symptoms of infectious disease caused by viruses (e.g. fever, cough, breathing difficulties, sudden loss of taste and smell, etc.),
    • Upon entering the examination room, each person disinfect their hands with the disinfection provided by the Faculty,
    • Students sign a document declaring that in the past two weeks, they have not had any symptoms of infectious disease caused by viruses and, are not put into quarantine,
    • Students give the signed declaration to the chairperson of the committee.

Article No. 4 - Final provisions

  1. This measure comes into effect from 11 May 2020.
  2. From the day of its effect, this measure cancels the Dean’s Measure No. 9/2020 and Amendment No. 1 to The Dean of the Faculty of Science Measure’s No. 09/ 2020
