AnotationLandslides are an important geodynamic feature in the landscape. They are a natural hazard, but also an important landscape process affecting geodiversity and biodiversity. Landslides take many forms, from rapid processes such as debris flows to slowly evolving but extensive deep-seated slope deformation. Landslides are caused by natural processes as well as human activities. Knowledge of the causes of landslides, their dynamics and their impact on the landscape is important both in terms of understanding current and future trends in landscape development, but also for identifying potential risks that may arise from landslides. The project aims to understand the causes of landslides in different environments, their spatiotemporal distribution and how they affect geodiversity and biodiversity. The project also includes improving dendrogeomorphological methods that are widely used in landslide research.
