The position is being filled in accordance with the project "STENEO: The Social dimension of new Technologies in the ENErgy sector in the Ostrava metropolitan area", reg. no.  CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0008591, under the research programme Social Sustainability of the Energy Transition in Housing.

Job description

  • Conducts research activities with significant international impact in the field of energy transition studies.
  • Carries out research tasks within a defined area under the supervision of a senior researcher.
  • Participates in sampling and the collection of primary data.
  • Contributes to publication and applied outputs.
  • Participates in the coordination of activities with research partners.

Qualification requirements – required

  • Professional expertise in human geography, local and regional development, sustainability transition studies, or a related discipline within FORD 5
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methods and techniques
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English equivalent to at least B2 level
  • An independent, responsible, and creative approach to work
  • At least three publications in journals with an impact factor. Publications must meet internationally comparable standards; particular attention is given to publications in which the researcher is the lead author and to articles published in Q1 and Q2 journals. The following conversion may be applied: one book equals four articles in journals with an impact factor, provided that the book was published by an appropriately recognised academic publisher. A chapter in a book published by a recognised academic publisher is considered equivalent to an article in a journal with an impact factor. Links to publicly available preprints may also be included; preprints must be appropriately referenced either by a direct link or by a DOI.
  • Participation in at least one basic, applied, or contract research project in the field of human geography, urban studies, energy transition studies, or related social sciences

The first round of the selection procedure will involve the assessment of the materials submitted by the candidates. Only selected candidates will be invited to take part in a second round of remote interviews.
