The Faculty of Science at the University of Ostrava welcomes cooperation with companies, institutions and organisations. Here we present the partners we work with on projects, events and final theses for our students.
ANAFRA has been active in IT since 2006, providing comprehensive services for businesses and the public sector – from cloud and cybersecurity to software development and server supply. Its own TIER III certified data center and a team of hundreds of experts allow ANAFRA to design tailor-made solutions even for the most demanding projects. The company manages over 3 PB of data for 5,000 cloud customers, delivers more than 2,000 servers annually to 90 countries, and organises lectures and workshops on current IT topics.
MAPPA is a municipal organisation focused on urbanism and city planning. It provides professional consulting to the city council and individual city districts. In Ostrava’s planning processes, it involves residents and other key stakeholders such as landowners, developers, and institutions including universities. The team also includes students and graduates of the Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava.
Moravian-Silesian Tourism is the destination management organisation for the Moravian-Silesian Region, coordinating tourism development and marketing activities both domestically and abroad. Its aim is to raise awareness of Northern Moravia and Silesia as attractive holiday, film, and conference destinations. The company oversees projects such as Technotrasa, the POJEZ gastro concept, and the “Máme světový kraj” campaign, manages the tourist portal severnimorava.travel, and organises the Moravian-Silesian Tourism Awards. Its team also includes the Moravian-Silesian Film Office and the Convention Bureau, promoting the region for business and congress events.
The City of Ostrava is the third-largest city in the Czech Republic and the metropolis of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The University and its home city are inextricably linked, not only through the University’s name. They join forces in implementing a wide range of projects, from research activities and innovations in education to cultural and social events. The University contributes to the development of public space and to involving students in the life of the city. Ostrava is a partner in many activities organised by the University or in which the University takes part. Together, we are also behind the presentation of the city and Ostrava’s universities under the UniverCITY banner at Colours of Ostrava.
The Municipal District of Moravská Ostrava and Přívoz is one of the 23 municipal districts of the Statutory City of Ostrava. MOaP serves as the administrative, economic and cultural centre not only of the city as a whole, but also of the entire Moravian-Silesian Region. The municipal district cooperates with the University of Ostrava primarily on the creation and updating of the fajnOVA CENTRUM strategic plan, the Náš obvod participatory budget, and other joint projects that help develop both the municipal district and cooperation between the municipal authority and the University.
Paskov is located between Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek on the busy cycle route No. 59 from Ostrava to the Beskydy Mountains and has 3,883 inhabitants. The town’s landmark is a Classicist château built on the site of a former Gothic water fortress. It is surrounded by an 18-hectare park, which is listed as a Site of European Importance. Other cultural monuments dating from the 18th century include the Church of St Lawrence, the rectory, a timbered granary with a shingle roof, statues and a fountain, as well as the Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Oprechtice.

We have long cooperated with the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava in teaching specialised courses focused on Ruby on Rails technology, participating in investment projects and actively connecting students with professional practice, whether through internships, expert training or the supervision of final theses.
