The Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure to fill the position at the Department of Chemistry
- VP2 (BCH) Leader / Excellent researcher of the LERCO project
Expected start:
- 1st of March 2025 (or by agreement)
Expected workload:
- 100 % (or by agreement)
Qualifications and other requirements
- PhD degree in biochemistry or bioanalytical chemistry
- Minimum of 10 years of research experience
- Significant scientific activity in the field of biochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry, documented by publications and other results (at least 60 publications in impacted journals, at least 1500 citations, h-index according to WOS at least 25)
- Proven experience in acquiring and implementing international research projects
- Experience with the transfer of knowledge into practice and commercialization of research results (patents, spin-offs, etc.)
- Ability to lead and motivate a research team is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of English, ability to communicate scientific results at an international level
- EU research level: R3 – Established/R4 – Leading (research group)
Job description
- Leading a research team focused on advanced research in the field of nanostructured materials with applications in biochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry
- Preparation, implementation and coordination of research projects, including cooperation with international partners
- Active participation in teaching and preparation of new study programmes, especially in the fields of biochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry
- Transfer of research results into practice, including their commercialization through patents, spin-off companies and other activities

- Outline of the research concept in the field of using nanostructured materials (nanoparticles, nanoporous materials) for detection, separation or quantification of biochemically important biomolecules

The Dean of the Faculty is entitled to cancel the selection procedure or not to select any of the applicants without giving a reason.
