Postdoc in archaeogenetics

The Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava announces a job vacancy at the Department of Biology and Ecology (f/m)

Estimated amount of work

  • 90%, 7 months fixed-term contract with possibility of extension

Job description/responsibilities

  • To analyze genetic structure of modern and ancient humans in Southeast Asia
  • To be involved in other on-going projects in the Laboratory of archaeogenetics, such as testing and improvement of analytical methods such as PCA, UMAP, and qpAdm
  • To collaborate with other members of the laboratory

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or a related field. For a Ph.D. degree obtained abroad, a recognition/certification of the foreign university degree will be required
  • Research experience in human genetics (at least two years)
  • EU research level: R2 - recognized
  • English at the B2 level
