AnotationThe aim of this project is to investigate the effect of porosity (pore shape and size) on results of characterization of porous carbonaceous materials by DSC thermoporometry (TPM). A series of suitable model carbonaceous materials with pores of various sizes and shapes will be prepared. Porous properties of prepared materials will be characterized by established techniques ? nitrogen sorption, SEM, TEM and mercury porosimetry. Afterwards prepared samples will be measured by TPM method. Results of TPM measurements will be evaluated along with those from nitrogen sorption, SEM, TEM and mercury porosimetry. Based on these results it will be possible to assess how TPM results are affected by the size and shape of the pores of carbonaceous materials. Obtained information will be used to design optimization of TPM measurements of carbonaceous materials.
