AnotationThe aim of this project is to develop hierarchical carbon monoliths with large mesopores. Hierarchical carbon monoliths with small mesopores previously synthetized via sol-gel polycondensation and soft templating will be modified using several synthesis routes (e.g. exchange of pore structuring agent and carbon precursors). Porosity of prepared carbon monoliths will be characterized in detail by established techniques. Finally, DNA adsorption on prepared materials will be tested.
