PF 2026: Faculty of Science at the University of Ostrava wishes you a year of living paths

The scene in our PF does not symbolise only nature, but it is a branching landscape breathing with life, searching for its space, and reacting to light, space, energy, and time.

It is a web of living paths while each direction emerges from a balance between a stable structure and constantly varying processes. Do not take growth for granted. It comes only with action. It is a result of countless small decisions: where to take next step, what to support or let mature, how to choose a direction in this varying environment that is the most sensible both for us and the surrounding world.

May the new year be a living path where small particles join creating something bigger, light changes the direction showing us new perspectives, and where accurate formulas and playful chances find a common rhythm. May it remind us that every path begins where we are standing and space for growth arises where the structures get loose – in times of having courage to experiment, ask questions, and look for answers no one has searched for yet.

We wish that year 2026 is a year of clear choices, meaningful steps, and paths leading to a living future.
