AnotationThe project is focused on studying the mechanism of distribution of assimilated carbon among substances that compose structural tissues and substances that participate in antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity plays a fundamental role in protecting plants from external abiotic stresses. The role of various phenolic substances and other low-molecular-weight protective substances in the process of plant protection against adverse abiotic conditions will be assessed. Additionally, the state of the photosynthetic apparatus after acclimation to different spectral qualities, which affect its thermal stability, will be studied. The research team (consisting of Ph.D. and Mgr. students) will focus in more detail on three sub-projects that will expand the scope of their Ph.D. or diploma thesis. The project will deepen the knowledge of the current research of KFY OU and support the development of new analytical methods. Collaboration on the preparation of publication in an impact journal and ongoing presentation of results at two seminars or participation in scientific conferences are also expected.
