Department characteristics
Our department is dedicated to exploring the complex interrelationships between people, places, and regions. We consist of two branches, each with their own unique focus.
The first branch is Economic Geography and Regional Development. Our research in this area explores the intersection of economic factors and regional development. We focus on a variety of topics, including urban geography and real estate markets, economic geography, and environmental aspects of economic development.
The second branch of our department is Political and Cultural Geography. Our research in this area focuses on the intersection of politics, culture, and geography. We explore a variety of topics, including ethnicity, nationalism, separatism, geopolitics, and geoeconomics.
You can learn more about our research topics on our dedicated subpage.
