Annotation: | This course is devoted to the explanation of factors behind economic and political transitions that co-produced patters of development in the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The first aim is to give a brief though comprehensive introduction to Southeast Asian region with chronological and comparative insights. The second aim is to transfer the current knowledge about ASEAN on how the transition process can lead to successful development in once impoverished and divided region. ASEAN has become a successful regional grouping in the world, next to the EU. Although limits of the Developing World echoes (environmental, social, political, security), ASEAN today is source of inspiration of how to achieve co-prosperity and peace in the most diverse world region. |
