Environmental aspects of economic development

Economic activities, especially industrial activities, can negatively affect the environment and deteriorate the quality of life of the population. That’s why sustainable development and its environmental aspects are an integral part of our research. We focus on the relationship between population, environment, and economic activities. In this context, we pay attention to studying mineral extraction and mining and follow-up industrial activities, brownfields, energy transition, and the use of renewable energy sources.

Our research focuses on the sub-areas below:

  • Environmental aspects of industrial activities
  • The impact of mining on the regional economic development in relation to the environment
  • Sustainable extraction of minerals in developing countries
  • Energy transition, spatial and socio-economic aspects of renewable energy sources
  • Environmental aspecsts of brownfields regenerations
